Community work

Community work based on the principle of participation represents the active involvement of community members in decision-making processes, planning and implementation of projects or activities that affect the life of the entire community. Although entering the Mojžíř housing estate was not easy at first, today, after three years of intensive cooperation, we can say with confidence that this approach significantly contributes to strengthening cooperation, building a sense of belonging and responsibility among community members. At the same time, it ensures that the needs and opinions of individual residents are truly heard and taken into account.

Community members who act as ČSRU volunteers have the opportunity to actively speak out, discuss problems, propose solutions and participate in projects that shape their surroundings.

What we do specifically:

  • Workshops and seminars: We organize events where residents can participate in a joint search for solutions or propose projects that have a real impact on their everyday lives.
  • Questionnaires and surveys:  We actively collect opinions and feedback from members of the Mojžíř community in order to better understand their needs and priorities.
  • Volunteer activities:  We involve residents in specific activities, such as maintaining public spaces, organizing cultural events, or helping the disadvantaged. Our activities also include coaching children in football and boxing, tutoring children and adults, or leading a dance and art club. We currently have 47 active volunteers.
  • Support for UA refugees:  We have been caring for refugees from Ukraine for more than three years. For example, together we founded the DOLJA singing group, which has been joined by 42 children and adults.

Thanks to these approaches, we not only improve the quality of decision-making processes, but also strengthen interpersonal relationships within the community. In this way, we support greater involvement of residents in social and community life, which has a positive impact on the entire locality.
