About us
The Czechoslovak Roma Union z.s. is engaged in social and educational work that brings help to the Roma community and the majority society in the European Union. It strives to eliminate social and societal inequality and applies the principles of equality and mutual respect of man to man in its activities. The association is dedicated to organizing leisure activities and tutoring, organizing educational and retraining programs, strengthening the self-confidence of socially excluded people and involving them in solving problems that prevent their integration into society.
Our mission
In the Czechoslovak Roma Union, we are committed to supporting and strengthening the position of the Roma community through education, culture, social support and cooperation. Our mission is to create a just society where diversity is respected and every person has equal opportunities for development and self-realization.
We strive for:
1. **Improving educational opportunities** – Supporting the education of children and adults, providing training and programs focused on personal and professional growth.
2. **Protecting and promoting Roma culture** – Preserving and spreading the traditions, language and cultural identity of the Roma community.
3. **Social support** – Providing assistance to individuals and families in difficult life situations through community work, which we consider to be key.
4. **Fighting discrimination** – Actively promoting equality, breaking down prejudices and raising awareness about minority rights.
5. **Collaboration and Dialogue** – Supporting cooperation between different communities, institutions and organizations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
We believe that by working together we can create a harmonious society based on respect, solidarity and mutual understanding.
