Volunteers of the Czechoslovak Roma Union joined the nationwide campaign Let's Clean Up the Czech Republic!

The Czechoslovak Roma Union, which has long been dedicated to community work and improving living conditions in excluded localities, proudly joined the nationwide campaign Let’s Clean Up the Czech Republic. The cleaning events took place over two days in localities where our volunteers have been active for several years.

March 28, 2026 – Předlice 12 volunteers participated in the cleaning of public spaces in the Předlice locality, who together collected an impressive 360 kg of waste, thereby significantly contributing to improving the appearance and hygiene of this city district, where hundreds of tons of waste are found in the inner blocks.

March 29, 2026 – Mojžíř The following day, the cleaning event continued in the Mojžíř locality, where the number of volunteers increased to 23 participants. Together, they managed to remove 570 kg of municipal waste. Despite the adverse weather, they demonstrated great determination and willingness to devote their free time and energy to a common goal – a cleaner and more pleasant environment for all residents.

Overall result of both days:
Total in 2 days – 35 volunteers – 930 kg

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all 35 volunteers who participated in both events and who did not let the adverse weather deter them from their dedicated work for the benefit of their communities. Your determination, commitment and positive attitude are an inspiration to all of us and proof that together we can achieve visible and meaningful results.

These cleaning events are a continuation of the long-term efforts of the Czechoslovak Roma Union to improve the environment in the localities of Předlice and Mojžíř. This activity is funded by the European Union within the framework of the project “Roma CSOs promoting EU values” (ROVA), which is coordinated by the European Roma Grassroots Organisations Network and in the Czech Republic and Slovakia by the RomanoNet platform. We believe that the care of common public spaces is an inseparable part of community work and strengthens the sense of belonging and responsibility among residents.

Thank you for changing your surroundings for the better!
