Witches in Mojžíř and Předlice? That was great!

On Wednesday, April 30th, something extraordinary happened in our two locations. In Mojžíř and Předlice, the Witches’ Grill took place from 4 p.m. – and it was absolutely great!

Both events took place as part of the ROVA project – and are a beautiful example of what this project brings to practice.

Mojžíř: 200 participants, of which 85 were children Předlice: 210 participants, of which 92 were children
Over 410 people attended both events in total, of which 177 were children – full of joy, fun and incredible energy!

What makes these events exceptional?

It’s not just about the grill and good fun – although there was plenty of that! It’s about something much deeper. These events were prepared and organized by the people from the locations themselves – their own time, their own energy, their own hearts. From the first idea to the cleanup after the event. Exactly as the ROVA project supports – strengthening people’s competencies to become leaders of their own community.

In Mojžíř, Irena Dunová and Lubomír Polák took care of everything together with a team of great volunteers. In Předlice, Gabriela Ferková led the event with clarity and grace. We would like to thank Helena Kariková for the sports and art equipment for the children, Karel Karik Jr. for the perfect preparation of the grills and safety, and Karel Karik for the prizes for the children and the hospitality for the adults. And of course – a big thank you to all the volunteers who took care of the order and good mood from start to finish!

Why does it matter?

Because when people organize their own events, something important happens:
Neighborly relations and trust between people are strengthened. Solidarity and pride in their own community grow. People gain new skills and experience – as organizers, leaders, volunteers. Children grow up in an environment where they see that their neighbors are capable and strong people. A foundation for better coexistence is created – day after day, event after event.

This is not charity. This is a community in action. And that is the soul of the ROVA project.

All participants left satisfied, with full plates, smiles on their faces and – we hope – a little witchcraft in their hearts.
